When the tongue
Lashes out,
The words sting the soul.

Some will keep up
Their pride, but they
Are no longer whole.

Hide behind a small smile
You'll always have
Your dreams.

Today doesn't matter
If the ends justify
The means.

But a glimpse in the mirror
Proves you're not
So blind.

I wonder which is more tragic
To be the victim
Or to find you are unkind?

A poem about bullies. It switches from the bully's perspective to the victim's perspective.

I also posted this on FictionPress.com under PaperMask, so if yo use it there, it's me. :)

WOW!!!!!!!!
I really know the pain!
I had such a bad bullying incident happen to me that I had a mental breakdown.
I cried when I read this.
That's how good you are.
Please keep on writing.

If I ever met a real Mary-Sue I'd hit her... and then reverse right back over her.

“Oh yeah. Because, like most things, if we're killed we'll be dead.”

Oh wow, I'm so sorry that you had such an experience. Just know that things like that are meant to make you stronger. I'm sorry if my poem brought up any unwanted memories. Thank you so much for the lovely comment and words of encouragement!

God is love, Jesus is life.

Shoot for the moon; that way, even if you miss, you'll always land among the stars.
