I saw Inglourious Basterds the other day. IT. WAS. AWESOME. Brad Pitt was so much better than I thought he would be. In fact, he was down right hilarious. His southern accent added a lot of character to his part, and he pulled off the sarcasm and recklessness of the character PERFECTLY.

Okay, I think it's fairly obvious now that I LOVED this movie. Below is a top ten list of my favorite parts. If you've seen Inglourious Basterds, do let me know what parts you liked!


1. "Bonjourno" - Seriously, the way Brad Pitt says this line made me laugh so hard. Honestly, I think that little pun is actually my favorite part of the movie.

2. The very end, when Aldo Raine carves the swastika on Hans Landa's forehead. Not only does he deliver the perfect final line of the movie (I think this just may be my masterpiece), but he brands the character that I despised the most with a mark that will forever put him in a living nightmare. Perfect.

3. I really enjoyed Melanie Laurent's performance of Shosanna Dreyfus. When she encounters Hans Landa at the restaurant after her killed her family, and she breaks down in tears when he leaves, that really struck a chord with me.

4. The very beginning/the first chapter. It was SO incredibly sad, but it really set the scene and made you hate Hans Landa (and can I say what a fantastic job Christoph Waltz did with that part? I mean he REALLY makes you hate him). Also, I enjoyed the acting of Denis Menochet of Perrier LaPadite. When he cries and breaks down and confesses that he's hiding a Jewish family so that his family will live...I really felt for him.

5. The relationship between Shosanna and Marcel. It was so sweet, especially because it was forbidden for an interracial couple to be together. Yet, it was so sweet and pure, and the fact that they died together made it all the more sad but beautiful.

6. Eli Roth as Donny Donowitz. Seriously, he was awesome. "Fuck a duck!"

7. B. J. Novak as Smithson Utivitch. Not only do I adore him from 'The Office', he was perfect for his role. "The German people's nickname for me is 'The Little Man'?!?"

8. Hans Landa's pipe. Seriously wtf? It made me laugh out loud.

9. "You'll be shot for this outrage!"
"No, I'll be chewed out. I've been chewed out before!" - Enough said.

10. "You said it was a tavern!"
"It is a tavern."
"Yeah, in a basement. You know, fightin' in a basement offers a lot a difficulties. Number one being, you're fightin' in a basement!" - LOL

Okay, so I finally saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Let me break it down for you:

What I Didn't Like:

First and foremost, all that Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione bullcrap. Seriously, it clouded most of the film. Some might say that I'm biased because I'm a Harry/Hermione shipper, but really, it's just common sense. The two couples are just terrible. Take Ron/Hermione for example. It's totally an abusive relationship. All they do is fight, fight, fight. And on the off chance that they're not fighting, they're not speaking to each other. Don't get me wrong, I suppose they can be a good contrast as friends, but for a romantic relationship? Seriously - no. As for Harry/Ginny, they are completely unsuited. Ginny "fell in love" with Harry before she even met him. What, then, does that make her? A FANGIRL. Does she know anything besides the name "The Boy Who Lived"? No. And she never really gets a chance to know Harry. Sure, they dated for about a month, but then, he breaks up wit her. So all she really knows about Harry is what she's read and/or heard about him, and a month of dating. And suddenly they're in love? Please. Don't insult the reader's/viewer's intelligence. If you like these ships, that's fine, I'm not saying you are wrong to like them. All I'm doing is pointing out the major flaws and plotholes of these supposed "ideal" relationships.

Ginny. I am so tired of being bashed over the head about how she's so "smart, funny, sporty, beautiful", etc. When did she become these things? Overnight? As I recall, she was quiet, mousy, let herself take orders from a talking book (when her father had flat out told her not to trust anything that talks when you don't know where it keeps its brain), obviously lacked common sense, and was never described as attractive until now. But, then *BOOM*! There she is, in all her shining glory, being the most perfect character in the history of writing. But wait, have we all forgotten how she trails boys along, then dumps them one after another all before her 16th birthday? Or how she treats other people around her by yelling and snapping at them? Yet, SOMEHOW, someone always seems to be saying something wonderful and lovely about her. For goodness sakes. I don't exactly like the term "Mary-Sue", but if there ever was one, Ginny Weasley would be it.

Hermione hexing Cormac on Ron's behalf. I know this was in the book, but still, it bugs me. It's just WAY out of character.

The interaction between Bonnie Wright and Daniel Radcliffe. It just seemed way too forced.

Shoelace. WTF was that? Random, much? Not mention any innuendo that followed.

"Close your eyes, close your eyes". Just the way she said it...I don't know. It felt very creepy.

The lack of screen time for Remus and Tonks. Those guys are cool - show them!

The dead bird scene.

What I Did Like:

Before I even say it, I know all of you out there who hate Harry/Hermione would hate this part, so just ignore it. Anyway, I loved the interaction and relationship between Harry and Hermione. It wasn't forced, it wasn't stiff, and it wasn't bland. In fact, it was all very clear that they're relationship is one of the strongest in the series. Even if they quarrell at times, they never intentionally hurt each other's feelings. And if they do, they apologize and make up shortly after.

The canary scene. Again, I loved the relationship between Harry and Hermione. It so pure and sweet, and just beautiful.

The hospital scene. Although I don't like Ron/Hermione, I did enjoy Hermione staying by Ron's side, like a good FRIEND would do.

The music. The entire soundtrack was gorgeous. Every scene fit perfectly well with the music.

Neville at Slughorn's party. He's just so adorabley funny. :3

Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood. I absolutely adore her and the character she portrays. She's always spot on. I only wish we could have seen more of her in this film.

Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix LeStrange. FTW SHE'S SO FUNNY. For example, when she was dancing around after she set Hagrid's hut on fire? Made me giggle like crazy.

Tom Felton's performance. I know a lot of people have been waiting for more scenes with him, and I'm glad that that finally happened.

Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. I know many people have a problem with her, but I don't, and I honestly can't see why they do. She really did quite well in this movie, and I'm glad she got the part.

The lighting. It enchanced every scene perfectly.

Alan Rickman's performance as Severus Snape. He's such a fantastic actor, and he really brings more out of the character. I wish we could have seen more of him as well.

And, last but not least, the props and sets. Tech crews work for freaking ever on those things, and everything looked absolutely magical.

So, there you have it. As you can see, my likes outweighed my dislikes, which is good. Overall, I liked the movie, despite some flaws here and there. If you're a Harry Potter fan, I would recommend it.

So, the reason that I haven't been around in a really long time is basically because I know I suck at art. In fact, there's very little that I can do with hands on art, even though I love it. I know I can never measure up to the people that I watch (look at my friends list below), and at this point, with a lot of the things that are going on in my life, I honestly don't think I can even try. Pathetic? Maybe. But at least I know where my art stands. I'll probably go through my gallery later and delete a lot of the crap I've uploaded. So, yeah, now you guys understand. Thanks for your friendship and amazing art.
